Rochester, N.Y. – Another candidate is entering the race for the 138th Assembly District.
Republican Peter Vazquez says he’s running for the seat, “because partisan politics and out-of-touch representatives have for too long squandered opportunities to focus on life, education and entrepreneurship to enrich our families and neighbors.”
“The moral compass of our community has been tilted by self-serving prevaricators,” he said in a statement, “but we can correct this wrong by ensuring a rightful and needed change of our representation in Albany.”
Vazquez is an area business owner, high school teacher and veteran.
The 138th District covers portions of Rochester, Chili and Henrietta. The seat is currently held by Assemblyman Harry Bronson, who is running for reelection despite not having the backing of the Monroe County Democratic Committee.
On February 1, Alex Yudelson secured the MCDC’s endorsement. The two Democrats will face off in a primary on June 23.
