Plattekill, N.Y. (WHAM) – Three men from Rochester were arrested early Sunday morning after State Police said they had nearly three pounds of cocaine in their vehicle
State Police said they stopped a vehicle on I-87 around 2:40 a.m. in the town of Plattekill, located approximately 15 miles southwest of Poughkeepsie.
While talking with the driver, 19-year-old Ricardo Almenteros, about the equipment violation for which he was stopped, troopers said they found probable cause to search the vehicle.
Almenteros, along with his two passengers - 52-year-old Ricardo Almenteros and 24-year-old Edward Pearce - were found to have 2.8 pounds of cocaine.
All three were arrested and charged with felony first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The elder Ricardo Almenteros was charged with felony violation of probation or parole. The young Ricardo Almenteros was charged with a vehicle and traffic violation.
All three men were arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail with no bail.
