(WHAM) - During the month of October, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Greater Rochester International Airport seized nearly $2 million in fake or fraudulent goods.
Officers at the airport's Port of Entry in Rochester went through shipments and found 193 items worth approximately $1.85 million. All of the items seized were found to violate FDA or Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) standards. Violations of IPR involve items that infringe upon U.S. trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
Shipments of drug paraphernalia were also seized.
Anyone who may know about counterfeit items being illegally imported into the U.S. is encouraged to send in an anonymous tip online.
