Dansville man charged with assault after victim punched in face

GROVELAND, N.Y. (WHAM) - A man from Dansville was arrested and charged with assault after an investigation into a July assault at a home in Groveland.

Livingston County Sheriff's deputies said Travis Amiot, 27, was at a home on West Lake Road on July 3. At that home, Amiot allegedly hit another man in the face.

The victim had multiple broken jaw bones and other injuries to his face. Deputies did not say what the motive was for the beating.

Amiot was arrested more than a month later on Thursday, August 8.

Deputies charged Amiot with second-degree assault and remanded him to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

The victim was treated for his injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital.
