Deputies: Driver intentionally swerves to hit person walking in Walworth

Walworth, N.Y. (WHAM) - A homeless man was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff's deputies after he reportedly nearly hit a person with his car.

According to deputies, 34-year-old Cormick Cantwell was driving on Plank Road in Walworth on Wednesday.

Cantwell reportedly intentionally drove his vehicle off the road and tried to hit a man walking along the shoulder of the road.

That person was able to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

Cantwell was arraigned on a reckless endangerment 2nd charge. He is scheduled to appear in the Walworth Town Court at a later date.

Cantwell is in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. A stay away order of protection was issued at court protecting the victim.
