Deputies: Racist message found by customer on gas pump in Bushnell's Basin

Bushnell's Basin, N.Y. (WHAM) - Investigators with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office are looking into a claim by a customer that a racist message was left on a gas pump in Bushnell's Basin.

On Saturday, deputies were called to the Mobil Gas Station on Pittsford-Victor Rd.

Deputies said a customer found a sheet of paper with a racist message typed up on it and taped to a gas pump. The customer said they pulled the paper off the pump and turned it into the attendant at the gas station.

The message left on the pump was not disclosed by investigators.

Deputies said they are asking for the public's help to find anyone responsible for putting up the message.

Investigators are asking anyone who finds other messages to leave them untouched and immediately call 911.
