Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The dog park located at Cobbs Hill in Rochester will become a permanent fixture in the park.
The dog park was opened in July as a pilot program. After five months of the program, the city determined it will continue to operate the dog park and consider adding dog parks in the city.
About 50 people attended a public meeting on the Dog Park in November. An additional public meeting will be held in June to further evaluate dog park operations, including winter operations.
The park will remain open only to people living in the City of Rochester; no fee will be added for dog park permits.
More information about obtaining permits for the dog park can be found here.
City employees do not supervise the dog park; dog owners are responsible for keeping the park clean.
