Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Dunn Tire raised over $12,000 for military veterans in the area this month through the Stars for Heroes program. Company officials presented the check to Eric Hutcheson and Lynn Magistrale from WNY Heroes Tuesday morning.

Throughout May, customers in New York and Pennsylvania raised money by purchasing special stars in support of WNY Heroes, a local veterans’ assistance organization founded in 2007. Donations surpassed their goal of $10,000, making this their most successful program so far.

“We cannot thank Dunn Tire, their customers, families and friends enough for supporting WNY Heroes and for believing in us.” said WNY Heroes President & CEO Christopher Kreiger, Sr., who is an Iraq War Veteran.

This is not the first time Dunn Tire has supported the veteran community. Over the past decade, they have raised over $40,000 for WNY heroes through fundraising activities, and even partnered with others to provide new tires for veterans’ vehicles.

“The brave men and women of our military deserve our gratitude,” said Robert Clark, Dunn Tire’s managing director of retail operations. “Through the incredible generosity of our Dunn Tire customers and our company contribution, we are thrilled to be able to extend a supportive hand to our community’s heroes.”
