Henrietta, N.Y. (WHAM) - Some firefighters in Henrietta spent their day giving back to their community.

A group of them volunteered to paint the front porch of the Isaiah House in Rochester.

The Isaiah House serves as a hospice home to help families take care of their loved ones in their final days.

Most recently, a firefighter received help there when it came to looking after his own family member.

"We live together in the firehouse, we have a strong bond, their families are our family," said Lt. Jared Guhl, who works with the Henrietta Fire Department. "So we help each other. It's the nature of the fireghter to help each other out."

Firefighters came out to help after finishing their shifts Monday night.
