Four Buffalo firefighters hospitalized for burns while at house fire

Buffalo, N.Y. (WHAM) - Four firefighters in Buffalo were hospitalized Thursday evening after suffering burns at the scene of a house fire.

Two of the firefighters have since been released from the hospital.

According to our ABC affiliate WKBW, two firefighters are still recovering at Erie County Medical Center. One of the firefighters suffered third degree burns, but is stable.

All four firefighters are with the Buffalo Fire Department.

They were fighting a fire on Butler Avenue.

Everyone who was inside the home was able to get out safely.

One of the battalion chiefs at the scene of the fire said the injuries are mostly burns. Two of the firefighters also suffered smoke inhalation.
