(WHAM) - A house in Hamlin was badly damaged after a fire broke out Friday morning.
Monroe County Sheriff's deputies and firefighters were called to a home on Apple Hollow Lane around 9 a.m. for the reported fire.
When firefighters arrived, the homeowner had made it outside safely.
The fire was put out a short time later, but deputies said the house sustained heavy damage.
Firefighters believe a number of pets died in the fire. The home is also said to be unlivable.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
