Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - After nine days of world-class music, the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival presented by M&T Bank has come to a close.
More than 208,000 people attended the festival in 2019, which was similar to attendance for the 2018 festival.
Crowd favorite and seven-time festival performer Trombone Shorty returned for the final night of the festival Saturday to close it out with a free show on Parcel 5.
More than 1,500 artists from all over the world performed more than 320 shows at new venues. Festival organizers were thrilled with the outcome.
“These past nine days have been the most overwhelmingly positive in our 18 years of producing the Jazz festival," said Marc Iacona, Producer and Executive Director for CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival. "There have been so many magical moments throughout the performances. The artists have expressed their appreciation for how knowledgeable and musical our Rochester community is."
Festival dates for the 19th CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival are already scheduled for June 19-27, 2020.
