Local magician creates card trick to raise money for nonviolence

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A Rochester-area magician who created a card trick wants to use it to help spread the message of nonviolence in the world.

Joel Gallegos Greenwich is a card magician and came up with the way to change the identity of a playing card.

The trick, which he calls 'Catalyst', is being used as "a tool for real world change."

People who want to learn how to perform it can purchase a tutorial; all of the proceeds will be donated to the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.

The M.K. Gandhi Institute is based in Rochester.
