Man charged with animal cruelty after 7 dogs, multiple cats in E. Bloomfield home

(WHAM) - A man from East Bloomfield was arrested Tuesday on animal cruelty charges after the condition of a 1-year-old dachshund dog at a local veterinarian's office led officers to investigate.

Ontario County Humane Society officers were called to a home on Route 5&20 in East Bloomfield by a concerned vet.

According to officers, a relative brought the dog named Rex to the vet's office because Rex's owner, 38-year-old Jesse Bremer, was not seeking care for him. When Rex was brought in, he was emaciated and in critical condition.

Code enforcement officers and Ontario County Sheriff's deputies were called to Bremer's home to check on other animals that may have been in poor health. They found six more dogs and several cats inside the home, all of which were in good condition.
