Man charged with assault for Ridgeway Ave. stabbing

Police arrested a Rochester man after they said he stabbed another man on Monday.

Officers were called to Ridgeway Avenue on Monday for the report of a stabbing.

Officers said they determined Wayne Coombs, 55, stabbed a 50-year-old man in the stomach.

EMTs took the man to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coombs was charged with second-degree assault and sent to Monroe County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Rochester City Court.
