Man charged following shooting on Genesee Street

(WHAM) - A man is expected to recover after being shot Wednesday in Rochester.

Officers said this happened on Genesee Street near Frost Avenue around 2:15 p.m.

A 36-year-old man from Rochester was shot in the chest, but is expected to survive. An AMR ambulance took him to Strong Memorial Hospital. He has since been treated and released, according to RPD.

Police say a suspect, 36-year-old Damion Thompson, was arrested Oct. 24 in connection with the case. He is facing charges including assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
