Man wanted for Batavia bank robbery arrested in Louisiana

Batavia, N.Y. (WHAM) - A man was arrested in Louisiana on Tuesday in connection with a bank robbery in Batavia.

According to Batavia Police, 33-year-old Joel Zsebehazy was wanted in connection with a bank robbery back in December.

Batavia Police said Zsebehazy robbed the Key Bank on Main Street on December 27. Zsebehazy was also wanted by NYS Parole for a parole violation.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana found Zsebehazy and took him into custody.

The FBI, New York State Parole, and U.S. Marshals were all involved in this investigation.

Officials in Louisiana are working to extradite Zsebehazy to New York.
