Mount Morris, N.Y. (WHAM) - It's not every day that your cooking is an option for astronauts in space.
Four Culinary Arts students from the Mount Morris Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center are among a group of finalists in a national Culinary Arts Challenge for the NASA HUNCH Program.
Nicholas Evangelists, Katelynn Herring, Michael Hannon, and Chloie Whitbeck competed against 27 other student teams from across the U.S. to make a meal that will be produced at Johnson Space Lab and sent to the International Space Station for astronauts to enjoy. Their instructor, Chef Stephen Kingston, helped to prep the team for their cooking.
The recipe for an egg whites frittata was chosen as one of the top 10 to advance to the next round.
The national competition will be held on April 26 at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
