New York schooling system gets $20 million amid financial burden from pandemic

ALBANY NY (WRGB) - The Federal Government is stepping in and helping New York State deal with the financial burden of a COVID-19 school year.

The United States Department of Education has awarded the Empire State's schooling system with almost $20 million.

They're one of a number of states to get aid for the the K-12 Rethink Grant.

The Department of Education says they will provide more than 190,000 teachers and educational leaders across this state with a combined 450,000 hours of professional support for hybrid and remote learning options.
