Batavia, N.Y. (WHAM) - A dairy cooperative in Batavia will be expanding its operations and adding 20 jobs.
O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative will be putting on a 20,000-square-foot addition onto its production facility. The 20 jobs will be added immediately.
A new retort beverage production line and support equipment will be added onto the facility, which is located at the corner of Cedar and Ellicott Streets.
The $34.5 million in upgrades to the O-AT-KA’s milk production facility will be partially funded through a $750,000 Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council Grant from Empire State Development.
The name O-AT-KA’s name is derived from the Seneca Native Americans, and means leaving the highlands or approaching an opening.
The cooperative expects to have the new line up and running in fall 2018..
