Police investigating unattended death on Weld Street in Rochester

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A section of Weld Street was shut down Tuesday afternoon in Rochester as police investigated what they are calling an unattended death.

Several Rochester Police cars and a mobile command unit could be seen in the area, with yellow crime tape up across the street.

According to police, officers were dispatched to an address on Weld Street just before noon. There, they say they found 49-year-old Aronda McKnight in the backyard.

The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation.
