Gates, N.Y. (WHAM) – A registered Level 2 sex offender has been indicted on criminal sex act and sex abuse charges after he allegedly forcibly committing a sex act against a client at the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office.
Timothy Young, 52, was indicted by a Monroe County grand jury on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of second-degree sexual act, and one count of second-degree sexual abuse.
Young, who lives at a New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities group home on Lettington Avenue, was arrested in November. Police said the abuse happened while Young was at a day program at the service office on Bermer Park.
According to court documents, Young locked the door to a bathroom, then forcibly removed the 42-year-old victim's clothing and raped him. Young is also accused of forcing the victim to touch his genitals.
State records show Young was arrested for first-degree sex abuse in 1994 while he was in Niagara Falls. He was convicted the following year, sentenced to 28 months to 7 years in prison and was released on parole in 2000.
Young remains in the Monroe County Jail with no bail set.
