Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - As confirmed cases of the flu continue to rise in the Rochester area, local hospitals are instituting restrictions for visitors.

Starting on Wednesday, January 3, visitors at Rochester Regional Health locations will need to adhere to the restrictions.

Those locations include Rochester General Hospital, Unity Hospital, United Memorial Hospital, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, and Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.

No more than two people will be allowed to visit a patient at one time. In addition, all visitors must be at least 14 years old.

If you have any flu-like symptoms, including sore throat, fever, runny nose, coughing, or sneezing, you should avoid coming in. This applies even if you have been vaccinated against the flu.
