Two-car crash in Pittsford briefly shut down Mendon Rd.

Pittsford, N.Y. (WHAM) - Two cars collided head on Tuesday afternoon in Pittsford, causing the road to be shut down temporarily.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said the crash happened on Mendon Road at Thornell Road around 2:25 p.m.

According to deputies, a minivan driving south on Mendon Rd. made a left turn into Thornell Rd. instead of yielding to a northbound SUV.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

The 16-year-old minivan driver was ticketed for failure to yield to the right of way.

Deputies said there is no sign of any drug or alcohol use in the crash.

Mendon Road was closed between Thornell and West Bloomfield Roads until about 5 p.m.
