Wayne County holding COVID-19 drive-thru testing clinic

People get tested for COVID-19 at a drive through testing site hosted by the Puente Movement migrant justice organization Saturday, June 20, 2020, in Phoenix. Latinos are especially vulnerable to infection because they tend to live in tight quarters with multiple family members and have jobs that expose them to others. They also have a greater incidence of health conditions like diabetes that put them at higher risk for contracting COVID-19. (AP Photo/Matt York)

(WHAM) – A drive-thru clinic event will be held this Saturday to allow both essential and current workers in Wayne County to be tested for COVID-19.

Wayne County Public Health and Finger Lakes Community Health will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 27. Anyone who wants to have a test performed on them needs to register ahead of time by Wednesday, June 24.

Registration can be done online here.

According to Wayne County Public Health officials, this testing event is for essential workers or people who have just returned to work as part of the Phase 1, 2, or 3 reopening plan. People being tested do not need to be showing symptoms of coronavirus in order to be tested.

People will be able to drive to the Wayne County Public Health facility at 1519 Nye Road in Lyons. The tests will let patients know if they have a current COVID-19 infection or not. This will not allow anyone to find out if they have previously been infected with COVID-19.

Questions can be directed to Wayne County Public Health at (315) 946-5749 or by emailing
