Williamson, N.Y. (WHAM) - Deputies arrested a woman in Williamson after she allegedly hit a child in the face.

Wayne County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to a home on Ridge Road in Williamson around 8:20 p.m. Monday.

Shelby Fisher, 23, is accused of hitting a six-year-old child in the face.

13WHAM News has reached out to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office to ask the relationship between the child and the woman, as well as whether the child suffered any injury as a result of being struck in the face. If the child is Fisher's, it is unclear whether he or she remains in the home with her.

Fisher was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to reappear in court at a later date.
