Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Starting Tuesday, visitors to the Seneca Park Zoo will be able to feed the giraffes.

The new experience for zoo visitors will bring people up close to the three giraffes living in the Animals of Savanna expansion: Iggy, Kipenzi, and Parker.

The feeding experience requires visitors to buy tickets, which cost $5 per person. A cap of 20 tickets will be set during the first few feeding sessions.

Visitors will be provided with treats such as carrots and lettuce to give to the animals.

Feedings will take place five days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Feedings will take place at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tickets for this experience can be purchased in person at the zoo.

Seneca Park Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through October 31.

Giraffe feedings are subject to cancellation due to weather and lack of cooperation by the giraffes.
