Actor in 'Wizard of Oz' Tin Man makeup arrested after performance

SULLIVAN, N.Y. (WHAM) - State Police said a man from Cortland was arrested for driving drunk after a performance of the Wizard of Oz.

According to State Police, they were called to a home on Perryville Road for the report of an intoxicated man on private property.

When they arrived, troopers said 31-year-old Nicholas Sherman had just driven to the home with another man and had been asked to leave.

Sherman told troopers he had just left a business in Chittenango where he had been working as an actor in a performance of the Wizard of Oz. Sherman took a breathalyzer test and registered a BAC of .19 percent, according to police.

Troopers arrested Sherman and charged him with aggravated DWI and DWI.

He is scheduled to be back in court on June 20 at 4 p.m.
