Car 'went for a swim' in Utah reservoir while owner stopped to take pictures

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A car accidentally rolled into Deer Creek Reservoir Sunday night while the owner stopped to take pictures.

Wasatch County Search and Rescue was asked at 11:05 p.m. to help recover the car.

The owner of the car had gone to the ramp at the state park to take pictures of his car.

As he was taking pictures, the car began to roll toward the water, eventually becoming fully submerged. No one was inside the car, search and rescue reported.

"So when the car decided to go for a swim, the owner was out of the car, " SAR's Facebook states. "We are glad everyone is safe and nobody was in the car."
